At the end of the Norwegian alphabet, there are 3 vowels not present in the English alphabet:
æ, ø, and å. Here is a simple way to generate these characters on a PC.
Some operating systems allows for the creation of characters not found on your keyboard by holding down the
Alt key while keying a sequence on the numeric keypad
(usually on the the right side of the keyboard). For some of the Norwegian vowels,
either 3-digit or 4-digit (or both) number sequences work, depending on the
setup of your computer.
